Our local pub is a dog-friendly pub; however, the bar manager has just been convicted of animal cruelty and banned from keeping animals for 5 years (link attached at the bottom). It's shocking that someone with such a conviction can still work in an environment surrounded by animals. In Redcar and Cleveland, we need to ensure that those who have harmed animals are not allowed to be in positions where they can cause further harm. According to the RSPCA, there were over 93,000 reports of animal cruelty in the UK last year alone. We must take action now to protect our beloved pets and ensure their safety by preventing convicted animal abusers from working around them.
