The American Patriot head boat fishing out of Rose Marina on Marco island is now bringing in a day trip headboat to fish our local near shore and offshore grounds with up to 40/50 passengers fishing at a time.

As we all know how precious and fragile our local fishery is to all the local guides running 6 pack charters (6 passengers at a time) and the families that own, rent, and vacation here using their own personal boats to enjoy fishing. The American patriot can destroy our entire fishery in a very short time. Making lots of your “hot spots” dead spots with no fish. 

Secondly, we have to ask ourselves what has the American patriot brought to the island to benefit the local economy? the answer is NOTHING.  The majority of their clients are from neighboring counties and other states  These patrons are not buying dinner at local restraunts, or shopping at local stores. They are merely parking on our island getting on a boat and leaving for several days to return to our island and drive away with coolers packed with our local fish.

The owner has also previously had their long range boat at Rose marina chained to dock by US Marshall’s for non payment of debt and has now possibly filed for bankruptcy. 

We need to press the city of Marco island and Rose Marina (Dan High) to no longer partake in the destruction of our local fishery and have this business removed from the island.
