Pet markets in Pakistan are nothing short of hell-holes for animals. The level of negligence and cruelty on the part of administration is highly condemnable. Animals are deprived of their basic rights and jammed into tiny cages without proper care, attention or food. 
Markets like the Tollinton market in Lahore and Empress market in Karachi have made headlines during the Covid lockdown due to the high number of animal deaths and grave negligence by shopkeepers.
The government of Pakistan must ban pet markets all over Pakistan deeming them unethical and a source of animal suffering.
