The Issue

Growing up, I always knew that our food was directly connected to the land, to farms, and to the hard-working people who dedicate their lives to bringing us the freshest meat, milk, and seafood. It was a way of life—buying fresh produce from the local farmer's market or the neighborhood butcher, trusting the quality of naturally farmed goods. But now, we face an unprecedented challenge: lab-grown meat, milk, and seafood are entering our grocery stores and dining tables, threatening to replace what has been our norm for generations.

Lab-grown products, while often touted as sustainable and innovative, are not the traditional food sources that many of us trust and rely on. These lab-created items are marketed as solutions to environmental and ethical problems, but the reality is that they divert us from the authentic agricultural heritage we cherish. Not only do these products challenge our traditional way of life, but they also bring with them questions about health implications, environmental impact verification, and the long-term effects on both human dietary patterns and agricultural livelihoods.

There is limited transparency about what goes on in the labs where these are cultured, and consumer consent is often bypassed in favor of market influence and profit margins. Are we ready to compromise the authenticity of what we consume under the guise of innovation?

Let's demand honest food. I believe in preserving the choice to support our local farmers and the quality they provide. If you, like me, believe in maintaining our traditional food values, then join me in taking a stand. Sign this petition to urge lawmakers to ban lab-grown meat, milk, and seafood, ensuring that natural, farm-fresh products remain at the heart of our diets.
