STOP Airbnb from turning residential neighborhoods into short term rentals. 

The locals of Cannon Beach are tired of watching colleagues and friends be displaced from our small coastal town. Airbnb and short term rentals are destroying our community and we need to make a change now before we lose the local culture forever. 

Note to visitors: While this petition might sounds like CB locals are frustrated at visitors we are not. We love visitors, we want to share the beauty of this area. Our small businesses depend on tourism  and we encourage everyone to come take a break, relax, reset, and heal by the ocean. Visitors can do their part in protecting our community by staying in hotels instead of short term rentals.

While this petition might not go anywhere - signing it can show the city how much trouble we are in and how short term rentals are killing the spirit of cannon beach. Home owners and second home owners need to know that by renting out their home with short term rental companies is harms small town infrastructure. Locals are let down by the city of Cannon Beach -  It is ridiculous to see co-workers living in their car. Not because they can’t afford rent it is because this town is corrupted by short term rentals.
