Ban AI in nursing and invest in staff training

Ban AI in nursing and invest in staff training
The Issue
I have been studying with the NHS as a mental health nurse for the past two years and I think it’s important the public should know it’s likely that AI will take a good portion of nursing jobs. We have a prewritten template for us and Co Pilot is now being implemented to write our notes for us. We are barely allowed to see patients and this system is the reason that wait times are so long in the mental health system, it is completely fixable. Soon it will be ‘AI would just be more efficient’. This is gross negligence from the NHS and ridiculously dangerous to our data and patient welfare. Lack of funding is a lie and it’s about time nurses went on strike while they still have the jobs to strike.
We are already self diagnosing and getting our prescriptions online and it’s coming to more dangerous drugs while patients could be getting real help and seeing us face to face. There is so much evidence to suggest therapy and tactile, somatic practices work and this system is only to benefit large pharmaceutical companies who benefit from the vulnerable while they pay for tranquillising medicine they do not need. While we could be working with their attachment needs, and traumatic experiences.
