ABA therapy is a form of "therapy" that uses repetitive tasks and behavioral modification to teach autistic people how to act neurotypical. It is often used on children as young as 18 months old, and can last for years.

ABA therapy has been proven ineffective, and even harmful in many cases. Autistic people are not broken or damaged, we are simply wired differently than neurotypicals. We do not need to be fixed or cured, we just need acceptance and understanding from the world around us.

The state of Florida has a chance to ban this harmful practice by passing SB 1232/HB 1408 into law (if it passes through committee). Please sign this petition in support of banning ABA therapy for autistic people in the state of Florida!
