The Issue

Florida 7OH ban Aug 2025

THE FACTS

7-hydroxymitragynine, a derivative of Kratom, has been exploited by unscrupulous manufacturers and sellers, resulting in devastating effects on individuals, including death. Much like its parent compound, this substance poses severe risks of addiction and financial ruin. Its unregulated status in Kentucky exacerbates the potential for abuse, trapping vulnerable individuals in a cycle of dependence and withdrawal.

7-hydroxymitragynine is highly potent, with effects similar to opioids, and lacks extensive research and oversight. This substance needs to be recognized for its dangerous potential. Other states have taken steps to regulate Kratom and its derivatives by categorizing them as controlled substances. Kentucky, however, lags, leaving citizens exposed to this dangerous substance.

For the safety and well-being of Kentuckians, I urge the authorities to classify 7-hydroxymitragynine as a Schedule 1 controlled substance. This would make it illegal to sell, possess, or distribute in our state, much like heroin, MDMA, and LSD. It's paramount to protect families from the turmoil caused by this potent compound.

Join me in advocating for change and urging Kentucky lawmakers to prioritize public health. Let's put an end to the accessibility of 7-hydroxymitragynine by urging its inclusion in the list of Schedule 1 controlled substances.

Please sign this petition to demand swift action from our state lawmakers, to prevent further damage to individuals and families impacted by this dangerous substance.
