Other states have taken steps to regulate Kratom and its derivatives by categorizing them as controlled substances. Kentucky, however, lags, leaving citizens exposed to this dangerous substance.

For the safety and well-being of Kentuckians, I urge the authorities to classify 7-hydroxymitragynine as a Schedule 1 controlled substance. This would make it illegal to sell, possess, or distribute in our state, much like heroin, MDMA, and LSD. It's paramount to protect families from the turmoil caused by this potent compound.
