This morning Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski announced that youth recreational indoor and outdoor sports will be prohibited until further notice as of November 17.  Children throughout the country have been and will continue participating in recreational sports safely. Youth sports have had the strictest protocols of any organization throughout this pandemic.  Our children need an outlet for their mental and physical well being.  Physical activity promotes strong muscles and bones, improves respiratory and cardiovascular health.  It helps with maintaining a healthy weight, reduces risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer.  Our children have lost access to recess and physical education in school.  We should not take recreational sports from them.  They have already lost so much.  Please sign this petition and join us in fighting this dangerous and unhealthy decision. Fight for your children and their physical, mental and emotional health.  This decision needs to be reversed.  Our children need recreational sports.
