We, the undersigned, demand that the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners allow Independence Local School #333 to remain open.

Independence is helping students to succeed in the midst of this pandemic regardless of learning disabilities, race, sex or zip code.  The Board is using outdated information to justify permanently closing this small, vibrant and unique learning environment.  These students deserve consistency in their learning environment while completing their high school years.  Students are thriving and deserve to not have to transition in the midst of a pandemic.

Independence is devoted to the academic success of the students.  The educators are dedicated to helping students succeed in life.  Our students love the climate and support that the educators render to each student.  

Closing schools during a pandemic is harsh.  Please sign to stop the closing of Independence at the school board meeting on February 8, 2022.  The students need you now.  Please sign this petition.
