Build a Skate Park / Pump track - Porter Park (West ballina)

The issue

A  skate park / pump track is much needed at Porter park (West Ballina).

The Skate park at Missingham Bridge is a great facility, but the location and due the growth, expansion and large family popoulation in Ballina it would be ideal and important for access to a another skate park - at Porter Park West Ballina.

Within the surrounding area of Porter Park there is a large population of Families and Youth. It makes sense that they are able to have closer access and enjoyment to a community Skate park / Pump track . I live within the local area of Porter Park and my family -  especially the younger ones often use and love the playground, basketball court, and space to just be kids - outdoors and having fun !!

Alot of famillies / youth use this park on a daily basis for not only physical activity and exercise but development and fundamental skills (hand and eye co-ordination, self development), social interaction skills and as well as utilise the BBQ area and water activities close by the river.

The younger kids would benifit greatly as its just in their back yard, closer to home and easier for families to enjoy, instead of having to pack and organise go into town. A journey in itself, as some have lots of kids and some families do not have transport or are able to get into town to use the Missingham Skate park. All (locals and visitors) would greatly appreciate to have a Skate park / Pump track at Porter park.

The added highly value of a Skate park / Pump track (and seating / landscaping and trees) would significantly benifit  the whole community positively.

It would be a special and meaningful community place for recreation activites, connection and enjoyment as well as create unique space for physical and mental wellbeing for all.

We request that Ballina Shire Council move foward in establishing a Skate park / Pump track at Porter Park West Ballina as a priority project.
