Safe pedestrian crossings and community access to Ballarat Library

Safe pedestrian crossings and community access to Ballarat Library
The issue
People accessing Ballarat Central Library currently do so at great risk. Cars are not required to stop or even necessarily slow down at the Creswick Road roundabout and there are no traffic lights, pedestrian or zebra crossings.
The library currently only has a handful of parking spaces which means that even those driving to the area are often required to cross roads to access the library.
Families; people with prams or small children; elderly, mobility-impaired or disabled people; people with injuries; cyclists and all members of the community - all these people can be seen regularly struggling to cross four or more lanes of busy traffic with no assistance or priority whatsoever.
People need to have safe access between ALDI, Doveton Street Medical Centre and the library. Stop prioritising cars and invest in the safety of pedestrians. We want to live in a sustainable city that looks out for ALL it's citizens.
