We would like to thank Greens MP Abigail Boyd who moved a motion which was passed in the NSW Parliament Upper House this week supporting our call for the Australian government to make it illegal for employers to cancel paid parental leave in the event of infant death or stillbirth.
You can read more about what Abigail Boyd says here https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DiLSeujb5/

We (Priya's Mum & Priya's Dad) may also be meeting Labor’s new Workplace Relations Minister, Amanda Rishworth soon. Watch this space.
We are upset to hear stories of employers still cancelling paid parental leave for women experiencing stillbirth or early infant death, even whilst they are aware the laws will be shortly changed. This is abhorrent behaviour, particularly when the previous Workplace Relations Minister Murray Watt said "we urge all employers to treat parents experiencing the loss of their child with dignity and respect". Changes to the Fair Work Act can't come soon enough.
Thanking you wholeheartedly,
Priya's Mum & Priya’s Dad
