Baby Animals Are at Risk. Demand Pasadena Help Save Cleo's Critter Care Now!

The Issue

Every day, Cleo’s Critter Care rescues and rehabilitates wild animals that would otherwise be left to suffer or die. But now, Pasadena’s only small-mammal wildlife rescue center is at risk of shutting down for good.

The center’s facility on S. Altadena Dr. may soon be demolished to make room for apartments, forcing Cleo’s Critter Care into an impossible position: relocate quickly or close their doors entirely.

And the timing couldn’t be worse. This is baby season, when injured and orphaned animals flood into care centers across California.

Cleo’s Critter Care has served the Pasadena area for over 20 years, treating more than a thousand animals with compassion, skill, and dedication. Just this year, they’ve released nearly 100 healthy squirrels back into the wild. Their work is vital and licensed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. But without immediate relocation support, dozens of animals in their care, and countless more to come, will be left with nowhere to go.

This isn’t just about one organization. It’s about what kind of community we want to be. When wildlife gets hurt or displaced, Cleo’s Critter Care is there. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

We call on Pasadena city leaders to step in now and help this beloved nonprofit secure a new location. Whether it’s city-owned property, zoning flexibility, or emergency grants, the City has options. Cleo’s doesn’t have time to wait.

Sign this petition to demand immediate action from Pasadena officials. Let’s save the only small mammal rescue center in the area and give Cleo’s Critters a chance to survive.
