Spell Our Town's Name Correctly

Spell Our Town's Name Correctly
The Issue
Yoruba is the language spoken mostly in Nigeria and Benin, and you can easily come across people speaking the language in many other communities in other parts of Africa, Europe and the Americas. This is a very rich and expressive language that it is not uncommon to have words or phrases that just do not translate to English at all or loses potent in translation. In 1975 or so, the Yoruba alphabet was standardized, during this standardization changes were made that includes changing words that includes “sh” to just “ṣ” (i.e. Oshogbo became Oṣogbo).
Iliṣan-Remọ is a small town in Ogun, Nigeria. This town holds the privilege of being the birthplace of private tertiary education in Nigeria, it is in this beautiful and culturally reached town that you will find Babcock University. “Babcock University is a private Christian co-educational Nigerian university owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nigeria.”
After the Yoruba alphabet underwent the last standardization, the good people of Ilisan officially changed the name of their town from Ilishan, unfortunately, Babcock University never officially made the change till date. Please sign this petition to encourage Babcock University to make this change and respect both the Yoruba language and the people of Ilisan-Remo.
