Demand Better Service From Spirit Airlines or Terminate Them!

The Issue

Spirit Airlines is renowned for being the most complained about airline in the United States, the lowest ranking air carrier in Consumer Reports and is the only US airline to make the list of the world's worst airlines, according to data by BusinessInsider and Sky Trax. I just want to let everyone out there know that they are not alone. Your complaints are heard and we CAN do something about it!

Please sign this petition and voice your complaints to the US Department of Transportation and the Federal Trade Commissions. There are currently initiatives underway to demand better service or terminate their operation entirely if demands are not met. Again, your complaints have been heard and there are many people working to get them out of the air! But this can only happen with your help! 

My Story. Sounds Familiar? 

The worst experience while traveling EVER! For my 197 flight from Laguardia Airport to Fort Lauderdale FLL, I was charged with hidden fees for bag check as my pocket book was considered a carry on. I was not able to bring an additional bag without paying $55 at the kiosk or $110 at the gate. There was nothing mentioned of this when purchasing my ticket on Kayak!


After demanding  to speak with the supervisor, I had to wait an additional 20 mins only to be told that I had to surrender my luggage or either pay the fee. In result, I missed my flight. The Ticket Rep was very rude and unprofessional!


When rebooked for another flight, (the 3:25pm flight leaving the same day) the plane arrived at 3:18 and took off at 4pm. We were later advised by the pilot, in flight,  that we would get there close to expected time as he would be taking a few "shortcuts." Shortcuts??


I never witness such behavior from an airline in my life. Reps repeatedly insulted customers at whims end and laughed about it with one another. No one said anything as it was common place. There were many people who had to surrender their bags or miss their proposed flight in result of a luggage dispute.

I went to social media to complain, however it was to no avail. There are hundreds of complaints similar to mine. I don’t think Spirit has one positive review on any of their social platforms.


I went to give them a bad rating. However,  it was found that they are currently the only US air carrier with a 2 Star Trax rating (the lowest rating in the country). Apparently, that’s already been done too.

Their are thousands of customer complaints to Spirit Airlines headquarters and the better business Bureau. Yet no Improvements! No change!


I think it's ridiculous that they are still in operation considering the context. Their cheap fares are a delusion when one factors in the hidden fees. They are dishonest about everything. It is absolutely repulsive behavior and should not be pardoned.


To top it off, after demanding better treatment and better service, I am now harassed online by people claiming to be Spirit Employees via twitter. 

I find it unfathomable that the worst airlines in the country (proven factually and through personal experiences) is still in operation considering the context. It's not rumored or some seemingly faux myth. It's the truth. It is the first and last time I fly Spirit and I will not stop in my pursuit of justice.
