Make the Azle ISD Board as transparent as the City of Reno

The Issue

The Azle ISD Board of Trustees does not publish it's meeting agenda packet so voters do not have the information that they have before they vote on it.  The City of Azle, the City of Reno, and other School Districts like Weatherford ISD do practice this basic form of transparency so the people they represent can intelligently comment on proposals they are voting for.  One recent example of why this is important...While the Azle ISD board had the report from the Long Range Planning Committee on what the bond proposal was (including the new 2nd High School Stadium) for two months, no one else did.  Additionally, in the meeting that they did unanimously approve the proposal, they received additional new information on the tax implications of the bond proposal.  Changes in State Law now allow citizens to comment on specific items the Board is voting on before they vote, but it is impossible to do so in an intelligent way without the same PUBLIC information that they have.  Citizens must now make public information requests for these basic documents - and I've had issues even when asking for very specific information - like asking how the money in the bond was being split between the items in bond.
