GUIDELINES FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE TO AYURVEDIC TREATMENT

As per new letter of Ayush Ministry vaide no T-1'2016/13/2008-DCC (Ayush), dt 30-09-2016

• This guide lines must be revised as it is worthless for individual Ayurveda consultant / hospitals. How can individual ayurved consultant have keep 5 ayurved doc & all staff with 15 beded hospital for getting claim? Individual Ayurved doctors's clinic, dispensary/hospital etc set up must be included as per Rule The Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) ACT, 2010
• this guidelines will increases corporate and resort/spa type ayurved practice which is totally oppose to basic principles of ayurved
• this guidelines covers maximum panchkarma therapies, not including all shalya related procedures like chhedan, bhedan etc 8 vidh shastra karma (operative procedures), it included only Agnikarma & Kshara sutra in piles-fissure-fistula surgeries but as per principles of sushrut this diseases can be treated better with 8 vidh shastra karma and rate of such procedure depends on nature & type of karma.STGs under AYUSH
• Agnikarma & Kshara sutra in piles-fissure-fistula surgeries charge fixed only 10,000 Rs including all packages, Any surgical procedure have separate charges for Main operative procedure (Chhedan, bhedan etc 8 shastra karma), Operation theater (Vranitopachar Kaksha) charges, anesthetic (Sangyaharan) charge, medicine & nursing charge, dressing (Vranopachar) charge, room (Vranitagar) charge etc.  this guideline not including this all details & its rate. So such things must be induced. Shalya- shalakya related all procedures must be included as per need in this draft with proper guidance of concern subject experts/ faculties/privet practitioners.

• Why discrimination with Ayush doctors? On fees
  5 doctors?
  Why fixed charges? Senior and experts can charge more.

• I could not find any Rate Card for Allopathic Treatments , Surgeries and medicines by the Insurance Companies ......they have Insurance Limits as per our policy .....why Ayush has derailed Rate Card ?

• It's stated that minimal requirement of 15 bed, and minimal attachment of 5 doctors should be there for getting claim.
• 90% of ayurvedic practitioner dont have a 15 bedded hospital, who have been practicing Individually.
• How will patients get benefited who take ayurvedic and Panchakarma treatment on opd basis.
• The surgeries performed by MD/ MS surgeons, gynaecologist, opthalmologist are not included in this.
• Lots of questions to understand in detail.
• Plz senior practitioner, guide us about the same.

• Ayush Ministry,Govt.of India has declared the guide line for the coverage of insurance which is totally incorrect and in appropriate for the Ayurved doctors who are practicing individual at their hospital or clinic as per this guide line the hospital of Ayurved which require minimum 15 bed and Minimum 5 qualified Ayurved doctors to get eligible for insurance benefit,In India the number of pure Ayurved practitioner is less this guideline clearly indicating govt.'s view to increase corporatisation and this guide line is definitely harmful to the individual practitioners...how they can afford 15 bed and 5 doctors it will require minimum Rs.10/ crores investment and after investing this much amount how will he reach to the break even point?...I request all Ayurved Doctors to protest this guide line at the earliest otherwise this will discourage new Ayurved doctors to start Ayurved practice and again it will increase cross pathy practice...

• Mostly Panchakarma procedures are performed by Individual Ayurved Consultant on DAY-CARE/OPD basis. Every time it is not compulsory to admit patient for Panchakarma procedures.
• Patient can perform his routine work along with procedures with due precautions. Many Panchakarma procedures indicated for several diseases can be performed on OPD basis is my Personal experience of successful 10 years of practice. Also many senior consultants having the same.
• Hence I suggest amendment not to make IPD MANDATORY & INDIVIDUAL Qualified treating doctor must be illegible in present circular.
  The unit charges to be revised.
