AXE THE CARBON TAX

AXE THE CARBON TAX
The Issue
I am a resident of 100 Mile House, BC, Canada, and like many others in my community, I am deeply concerned about the proposed carbon tax. This tax will impact every aspect of our lives as Canadians. It is not just an abstract policy; it is a burden that we will feel in our daily lives - from heating our homes to driving our cars.
The carbon tax is being presented as a solution to climate change. However, there are other ways to address this issue without causing financial strain on families who are already struggling. In fact, research shows that such taxes can disproportionately affect lower-income households (source: Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives).
Our elected officials should be focusing on what our communities truly need - affordable housing, better healthcare services and job opportunities - rather than imposing additional financial burdens.
We urge the government of British Columbia to reconsider this decision and explore alternative methods for addressing climate change that do not place an undue burden on its citizens. Please sign this petition if you stand with us against the implementation of carbon tax in British Columbia.
