Since his appointment in 2013, Ed Woodward has presided over an abysmal track record of failure in the transfer market.

His first window saw the farcical failure to bring Ander Herrera to the club and subsequent overpayment for Marouane Fellaini, which demonstrated a clear lack of knowledge/ability.

He has also handed lucrative new contracts to mediocre squad members, while also vastly overpaying wages to new signings, and breaking the club's wage structure in the process.

In 2018 ,he overruled the club's ex manager (Jose Mourinho) in the 2018/19 summer transfer window by refusing to purchase a new centre back, as a result the club had poor performance and later sacking Jose Mourinho, (a manager with a proven successful record with many clubs).

After sacking Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjær was appointed interim manager and then full time manager.

From the time Ole Gunnar Solskjær was appointed. He has requested for changes to be made to the squad in terms of new talented players to be bought from different clubs. Midfielder Daniel James form Swansea City was bought for £15 million, right back defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka bought for £45 million from Crystal Palace and Centre Back Harry Maguire bought for £80 million from Leicester City, with these new players brought in and other players that were already in the squad, Ole Gunnar Solskjær had the squad sorted for the season, untill

Romelu Lukaku was sold to Inter Milan for £75 million and Alexis Sanchez loan to Inter Milan in which Manchester United is still paying a percentage of his wages.  The 2 key strikers were taken out of the squad and not replaced.

The board needs to sack Ed Woodward and employ a qualified individual in his place with experience of the football transfer market, as well as also employ an experienced, professional and passionate sporting director.
