A week before homecoming, Avon Lake High School administrators announced they are moving ALHS's homecoming from the indoor gym to the outdoor stadium's TURF field. Dress shoes, which I've already bought, aren't permitted anymore. 

This news is extremely disappointing for all students, especially seniors. I know of people who have ALREADY BOUGHT TICKETS that aren't going anymore, and I know of many more who will not buy tickets anymore because of this. This takes a serious chunk of money out from the cheerleader's ONLY fundraiser (Homecoming Fundraiser). The cheerleaders and coaches had no say in this decision, either. 

It's extremely contradictory to not require masks inside at school or at football games, and to have prom in May 2021 mask-less, but move our homecoming outside. 

I think I speak for most when I say I'd rather have a masked indoor homecoming than homecoming outside on rubber turf in a short sleeved short lengthed dress (**THAT I'VE ALREADY BOUGHT**) on a cold fall night.

The students and parents of Avon Lake High School request administrators review their decision and think about all factors of this situation. Not only is this affecting the seniors and other students, it affects the cheerleader's ONLY fundraiser, students' and parents' bank accounts, and it turns an extremely exciting event into dread and disappointment. 

If not, I'd at least like a refund on my dress and shoes that I won't be wearing anymore.
