Increase effective moderation of MCC.
The Issue
Allow us to preface this by saying that MCC is a fantastic server run by some wonderful people, and thriving off a consistent, stable, welcoming, and agreeable community. This petition is spawning from a place of love, care, and compassion; not hatred.
As it stands, MCC is accepting no new applications for the moderator position. This is a problem, as it means that it has essentially become infeasible that the moderation of MCC can increase, which is absolutely necessary right now. We have far from 24/7 protection from rule-breakers, which is something that would drastically improve the quality of life on the server.
To the casual observer, this issue may not be very present. It is the regular visitors who come, most specifically around the time of night by EST's time zone, that problems come into play. While the moderators do work hard to ensure an environment where all actions have equally bound consequences, they are simply incapable of dealing with all people at all hours of the day. However, it would be absurd to expect them to do so. People need to eat, sleep, work, and go to school, alongside any extenuating circumstances that may arise in a person's day to day life. The moderators do a fantastic job, we merely need more of them.
It is with this in mind that we find it necessary to increase the number of moderators that survey the server on a day-to-day basis. Many mod calls go unanswered until much too late, and people are forced to either ignore rule-breakers, or make some attempt to persuade them to stop their disruptive actions. However, in the end, it is not uncommon that players are forced to disperse, as their session of roleplaying, casing, or other activities had been thoroughly interrupted.
In short: Accepting future applications for the moderator position, however strict the requirements are, would help improve quality of life on MCC. It is not necessary that more are hired immediately, rather, we would like to see the opportunity for new hires arise to support the balance of care and upkeep for the server.
