Avery County To Allocate Funding For Animal Control

The Issue

Avery county is facing a pressing issue with numerous canines being loose, lost, and abandoned daily, highlighting the urgent need for animal control services. How many postal workers must be bitten? How many dogs need to rely on grocery store parking lots or local restaurants? How many lost pets may remain unfound? How many lost dogs might freeze during harsh winters? How many dogs will suffer abuse, left tethered on short chains? At what point is enough, enough? Avery County likely can afford this much needed service. Please take a moment to sign this petition, urging the board of commissioners to recognize the community's demand and the significance of having Animal Control in our county.

It has been brought to my attention this has been attempted in the past. Our board of commissioners has some "fresh meat"... let's Get It Done this time!!

To clarify, we require a minimum of one, if not two, individuals to form a full-time dedicated animal control patrol team.

To support their efforts, it is essential to provide them with fully equipped vehicles for efficient transportation of strays and animals in need of re-homing. These vehicles will play a crucial role in responding promptly to any animal-related emergencies and ensuring that every animal receives the care and attention it deserves.

Furthermore, it is paramount to ensure that there is sufficient space available to accommodate these animals. If space is limited, steps must be taken to address this issue and provide a safe and comfortable environment for each animal in need. By working together and addressing these important aspects, we can make a positive impact on the lives of our furry friends and create a more compassionate community for all beings.
