autism crisis fund

The Issue

The reason why i have started the petition is going through a crisis myself and finding out how little help there is.(and how your situation can become worse because the support just wasn;t there) both the care system and welfare system leaves giant holes in provision and leaves  people with no support. Also the fund could be funded like any other charity where people could donate to it and could raise money through existing fundraising streams. if the fund was supported enough then very little of the funding required would come from central/local government. the fund's eligibility criteria would much more open and wide than the current eligibility  rules that govern social care and the welfare system. This would  prevent people falling through net after net. most of the people including professionals who i have talked about it to has replied   "does the fund actually exist?" There would be forms of criteria but it would focus more on needs rather just a financial assessment like you currently have to go through with the care system. (there would be savings limits be no where as stringent as people are having to face currently. the fund's purpose would assistance people to climb out any crisis(for example if someone is facing homelessness, a deposit for new accommodation or a one off sum if there needs wasn;t being met by the welfare system, or funding for a support worker if the care system wouldn;t provide one. ( yes any help wouldn;t be permanent, but would be enough to hopefully help someone to get to a better place)
