“The Love God” AKA Richard Mercer played a positive  role in more relationships than bears worth mentioning. After nearly 2 decades on the air, his influence was directly felt by thousands of callers, and indirectly out to the hundreds of thousands of listeners across Sydney and Melbourne.

His baritone voice providing gentle guidance and  a sympathetic ear to those who needed it, or to simply share the joy of those in love. Be it two lovers laying in bed next to one another, or "Sharon" showing her commitment to "Barry" who is serving a short spell but she will stay faithful for 7 months until he is home again.

In a time where all we seem to hear is doom and gloom, now more than ever we need his return to the airwaves. Sharing his positivity and encouraging us to show love for those closest to us.

Times may have changed, but the people still need an avenue to show their love for one another, and what better way than a heartful message across the airwaves followed by “The Lady in Red”.
