It is time for Australia to step up and lead the way for Animal Rights. Australia is knowingly allowing sentient beings to be transported in packed ships to overseas destinations where it has been shown that these animals suffer prolonged, painful and horrific slaughter. These animals are subjected to conditions that cannot be ignored. The horror starts before loading and continues until their pain filled end. Reports have been made of blinding cattle to quieten them, leaving them to stand for extended time in faeces filled holding pens/stalls, to being bludgeoned to death with sledgehammers. Not only is this inhumane, it is showing the rest of the world how poorly we regard these animals. Live export must be banned now. Not at some future date.
