Whilst I am not a local to the area I have been profoundly upset and disgusted to learn that Sussan Ley, The Environment Minister has approved the expansion to the Hanson Brady Hill quarry in the Port Stephens area. 

Even after significant opposition and findings from the Newcastle University wildlife conservation biologist Dr Ryan Witt, this quarry expansion has been given the green light.

After all the devastation of the recent bush fires, these animals need to feel protected in their own environment. No amount of replanting of trees or relocating koalas will fix this problem. The Environment Minister is well aware the koala is near threat status critical

This decision must be overturned and we need people power to do this. 

I am urging everybody to do their bit and show the world that we love not only koalas but all our native wildlife. Animals need our voice.
