Investigate ComSuper's legal negligence toward invalided veterans.

The issue

Currently the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) is allowing invalidity benefits for veterans to be taken from them through various avenues, from being incorrectly valued and split in family law proceedings, to incorrect taxation, to allowing the Child Support Agency to garnish benefits even though it is against their own governing legislation. This has lead to financial hardship, hospitalisation and even suicide for those directly affected.

At this point, even though CSC has been found to be legally incorrect in their interpretation of a number of regulations, they still insist on every veteran to fight individually for their legal rights and continue to provide misleading information. Many of these veterans, due to injuries, mental issues or medications, are unable to understand their legal rights and navigate the regulations to decipher whether the information they are being given is correct. This is why CSC have managed to get away with these legal oversights.

This is not a case of veterans asking for 'more money', it is a case of them being able to keep what they are legally eligible for and that they be treated with integrity by the people entrusted to make these financial decisions.
