Australia to NOT send the defense force to war

Australia to NOT send the defense force to war
The issue
Reason: Australia must not commit its Army, Navy, or Air Force to war unless in genuine self-defence. War leads to the tragic loss of life—young men and women in uniform, are placed in harm’s way. Many do not return, and those who survive often carry deep psychological scars such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression. This extends beyond our military to civilians of the nation, where countless innocent lives are lost or forever changed. Involvement in foreign conflicts can also make Australia a target for retaliation, increasing threats of terrorism or cyberattacks in Australia. War drains national resources. The billions spent could be invested in priorities that strengthen our country and improve lives here at home. We must be leaders in promoting peace, not participants in perpetuating violence. Future generations deserve a world where diplomacy triumphs over destruction.
Request: We therefore ask the House to commit to a policy of non-engagement in future foreign wars and military conflicts that do not directly involve the defence of our own nation. This petition is not a rejection of our brave men and women in uniform. Rather, it is a call to protect them from being deployed in conflicts that are politically motivated or lacking in transparency and public support. We ask the Australian Parliament to: Establish clear, democratic oversight before any deployment of military forces. Ensure transparency in all decisions regarding foreign military involvement. Commit to a foreign policy grounded in peace, neutrality, and non-aggression. Let Australia lead by example as a nation committed to peace. War is not the path to security.
