Australia First: Reject Recognition That Rewards Terrorism and Divides Our Nation

The issue

Australia First, Not Terror First

Australia faces critical challenges at home: soaring living costs, an ongoing housing crisis, rising crime, and increasing social division. Our leaders should be united in addressing these urgent issues, yet the Prime Minister has chosen a path that threatens to deepen our divisions and endanger our security.

By recognising a Palestinian state led by organisations that fund terrorism, reject peace, and spread hateful propaganda, the Prime Minister has made a reckless decision that rewards violence and betrayal.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) is no peaceful partner. It refuses to recognise Israel’s right to exist, indoctrinates children to hate and kill, glorifies terrorists as heroes, and operates the infamous “Pay for Slay” program, which pays monthly salaries up to 12,000 shekels ($4,900 AUD) to Palestinians who commit acts of terror against Israelis. Families of suicide bombers receive lifetime pensions. These payments consume 7% of the PA’s budget, much of it sourced from international aid, despite global condemnation.

Hamas leaders live lavishly in Qatar with billions in assets, withholding vital aid from their own people in Gaza, stealing international donations, and openly mocking Western donors. Terrorists openly operate within Gaza, including inside UNRWA schools and facilities repeatedly found storing weapons.

Since October 7, 2023 the day Hamas orchestrated the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, killing over 1,200 innocent people and kidnapping hundreds, Australia has witnessed extremist hate fuelled by false propaganda. Lies of genocide and starvation have been exposed as staged or recycled images, yet they continue to inflame antisemitism and justify violence both abroad and here at home.

On October 8 Sydney’s Opera House steps became the site of extremist chants of “Gas the Jews” and terrorist flags all under the Prime Minister’s watch.

The Palestinian leadership has repeatedly rejected genuine peace offers, choosing violence over coexistence for decades. Meanwhile, Australian intelligence agencies warn of rising extremist sentiment domestically, made worse by government actions that embolden hate.

The Prime Minister’s recognition of a Palestinian state amid this reality has done nothing but divide Australians, alienate our Jewish community, and embolden extremists who marched on the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, burning our flag and chanting hate-filled death slogans.

This reckless decision brings the conflict closer to Australian streets and offers no benefit to Australians struggling with real crises at home.

Recognition should only be considered when all hostages are freed, terrorist organisations dismantled, and the Palestinian leadership ends its terror funding and recognises Israel’s right to exist.

Australia must stand for unity, security, and truth. We will not reward regimes that fund murder, glorify terror, and spread lies. We demand a ban on terrorist-affiliated flags on our streets to protect Australian values and safety. Australia comes first.

We demand the Australian government reverse this dangerous recognition and hold accountable those responsible for the disgraceful burning of the Australian flag in Melbourne, as well as the death chants and the display of terrorist organisation flags on the Harbour Bridge our sacred national symbol, defended by generations of Australians.

Sign this petition to send a clear message Australians deserve leaders who put our safety, unity, and values above divisive foreign agendas.
