We had a meeting with the artist Mr. Beau Stanton and Warren Brand, the President of Branded Arts yesterday! WCC, other community members, LAUSD and the artists all set together and we shared our thoughts and passions. We learned so much from each other. We learned that Mr. Stanton had no intention of drawing the Rising Sun Flag and of course no intention of offending anyone. He also sympathized with the community's concerns regarding its similarities to the Rising Sun Flag. The LAUSD wants to take this opportunity to educate our children by organizing forum discussions. The mural will be removed over the winter break however we decided to create a commemorative wall plague to remember Mr. Stanton's work and how the community came together to respect the history in unity. Thank you again for standing with us despite of all the sensitive discussions. We are very proud to be a part of this great community and opportunity to work together! You made a history!!
