#AULetUsMarch: An Online Petition for Arellano University College Students Batch 2021-2022
Why this petition matters
A graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, it is an event where we celebrate our hardships, sacrifices and the moment that we have been waiting for to thank our loved ones; that finally we have accomplished another milestone in our life.
At this moment, Arellano University has not yet officially announced anything about the graduation rites for Batch 2021-2022 graduating college students. But consent forms of our graduation with various dates (September and October 2022) from different campuses are being asked for us to sign. While some students signed and some didn't, we all share the collective agony and opinion that virtual graduation is not enough.
We recognize that it is almost impossible this time of the year to have this organized at a place like the Philippine International Convention Center. But we are humbly asking for the board members to at least consider our request and push through face-to-face graduation even in our own campuses.
With all the outdoor events that are being organized across the country such as campaigns, rallies, concerts, limited face-to-face classes including graduation by other universities, commencement exercise in a face-to-face setup is not impossible to conduct for our batch. WE, the students of Arellano University, believe that now is the time to step up and demand for the graduation we rightfully deserve.
We would like to reassure that this activity will be conducted with utmost health caution. Signatories of this petition agrees to the following proposed measures:
1.) Face to face graduation in an outdoor or open venue such as campus quadrangles, Arellano University Manila Gymnasium, or private events place in Metro Manila.
2.) Requirement of full vaccination among students and parents/guardians of the graduates.
3.) A maximum of two (2) family members/guardians are allowed to attend the commencement ceremony.
4.) Health protocols such as proper wearing of masks and social distancing will be strictly followed.
5.) Commencement Ceremony should be held per campus following their respective schedule.
6.) Upon entry, health declaration form will be required to fill out among students and parents/guardians.
