The latest 'decisions version' of the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan shows extensive zoning changes along both sides of Margan Ave., New Lynn to Terrace Housing and Apartment Building (THAB). This is the highest density residential zoning under the AUP. This only makes it all the more urgent that the greenbelt of Margan Reserve and its trees ( as shown on the map ) is retained. At the August Whau Town Centre Development Working Party, the latest version of the confidential masterplan for roading options through the reserve was not shared by council planners with the Whau Local Board. Another meeting is planned for September 7. The local board stressed that any decision should go to a formal public meeting.
