Margan Reserve in New Lynn is under threat of being used for roads into an adjoining private housing development which means the removal of fourteen fully mature pohutukawa trees and loss of 30% of this public reserve.  This decision will be made by Auckland Council behind closed doors unless the community speaks out to preserve this significant stand of native trees.  Our neighbourhood amenity and natural heritage will be lost to future generations. Alternative road patterns need to be explored by council planners to save this greenbelt and to reduce traffic congestion on Margan Avenue.  Sign this petition to save the trees and let your opinion be counted before final planning decisions are made.
