Attorney General: Sentence review/change: We want Mick Philpott to spend the rest of his life in prison
The Allenton house fire occurred on 11 May 2012 in 18 Victory Road, a residential street in Allenton, Derby, Derbyshire. Five children died in the fire, while another later died in hospital. The parents of the children, Mick and Mairead Philpott, were later arrested and charged with murder, along with their friend Paul Mosley. Philpott had started the fire on purpose. In December 2012 their charges were downgraded to manslaughter.
Mick Philpott was sentenced to LIFE inprisonment - but with a Minimum of 15 years. Which means he may be released as early as 2028. We believe the only fitting sentence that should of been passed should of been a "life means life" sentence
