Justice for Gary J. Weems
Justice for Gary J. Weems
The Issue
I am the daughter of Gary J. Weems, I lost my father to police brutality in 1993 before camera phone or the nation caring about Black Lives Matter. I’ve been fighting alone for justice for my father for 27 years and today I am asking for your support. To this day the city of Lowell continues to ignore their misconduct, murder cover-up and kidnapping of the corpse of my father.
In 1993 Officer Lewis Hunter at the time worked with the Lowell police department. Mr. Hunter is responsible for the death of my father.
Mr. Hunter and his colleges; Officers John J. Sheehan, Daniel R. Brady, William M. Taylor, William F. Busby, Barry Chevalier, David Tousignant, and Chief Medical Examiner Garrett Sheehan. falsified reports which is now a federal offense under the Justice Act 2020 section. 106 Falsifying Police Incident Report and section1041
(b) PENALTY.- Any person who violates subsection (a) shall be fined under this titled, imprisoned for not more than 20 years or both.
Evidence will show that the city helped cover-up Mr.Weems murder, kidnapped and buried him as a John Doe to hide evidence that will prove Mr. Weems was killed due to a blow to the back of the head from Officer Hunters billy-club. The force would cause Mr. Weems to go unconscious, where his body then fell forward causing the injuries to his face. The evidence will also prove why the family was never notified of Mr. Weems murder even though Mr. Weems had several forms of ID on his person when he was found. Witness statement given mention Mr. Weems having a wife, kids and place of residence that officers failed to take into consideration. Mr. Weems had enough identification on him that the medical examiner's office was able to fill out Mr. Weems entire death certificate and send a ambulance bill to his sister months after his death.
For almost 27 years the city of Lowell has refused to return Mr. Weems' remains to his family so he can be buried with loved ones.
Mr. Weems family is asking for; Mr. Weems body to be exhumed, A DNA test be given to prove the remains are those of Mr.Weems and a second autopsy of the skull to show the fracture located on the back of the skull.
The family is asking that the state reopens the case as his death is filed as undetermined. Further more charges be brought against all officers involved, as well as the Chief Medical Examiner's office for misconduct.
We are asking for the maximum sentence of 20 years for Lewis Hunter and 5 to 10 years for his colleges, plus a fine due to pain and suffering due to the absence of a husband, father and grandfather.
