Dear Jeff Bezos,
Hi, it's me again.
I am absolutely committed to persuading you to launch a pilot Pick Up Program in Marin County. Hence my third letter to you.
We have an immediate concern. China is poised to cut off all imports of cardboard at the end of this year - which is where your packing materials have been going. We have no local cardboard recycling plants so unless we, your Amazon customers, can finance long distance trucking, ALL single-use Amazon boxes and plastic mailers will go straight to the landfill.
Establishing a pilot Amazon packaging pick up and reuse program in Marin County, CA, is now even more necessary and urgent.
We’re ready to do our part to help Amazon live up to its claim of being “the earth’s most customer-centric company”.
And we’d like to ask that Amazon publicly state its intent to extend the life of its boxes from single-use to over 200 uses, effectively reducing industrial remanufacturing and keeping Amazon packing materials out of landfills for years.
This could be the start of something big. So let's start.
Best Regards,
Carolyn Lund
