Donate today to the publication of a letter to CEO Jeff Bezos asking for an Amazon Pick up Program in Marin County.
We thank Amazon for delivering essential goods during the pandemic; however, too many Amazon boxes are being left behind.
We ask that delivery trucks pick up Amazon boxes on subsequent deliveries and return them to Amazon warehouses for reuse.
Reuse is key to our request because it eliminates the need to continually remanufacture boxes. Reuse conserves natural resources (timber, water, energy) and creates no pollution.
A letter asking Amazon to pick up its packing materials is poised to run in the "San Francisco Chronicle", the area's largest newspaper, in one of Amazon's most important markets.
Your donation will help fund a full-page public service ad and the simultaneous delivery of a fed ex package to Amazon Headquarters at a cost of $6,000. The package includes an expanded letter and data on the Benefits and Cost Savings of an Amazon Pick up Program. We have a compelling case to make.
Covid-19 threatens our health and community. To keep us all healthy during this shelter-in-place, we need to reduce and manage escalating waste, forestall industrial and landfill pollution, and protect the scenic beauty of the street sides and open space in Marin County.
