We thank Amazon for delivering essential goods during the pandemic; however, too many Amazon boxes are being left behind.
Donate today to the placement of a full-page public letter to CEO Jeff Bezos, asking Amazon to run a pilot Pick up Program in Marin County. This is step two in a multi-step strategy to prompt Amazon to take responsibility for its packing materials.
Specifically, we ask that delivery trucks pick up Amazon boxes and plastic mailers on subsequent deliveries and return them to Amazon warehouses for reuse.
A letter asking Amazon to pick up its packing materials is poised to run in the San Francisco Chronicle, the largest area newspaper in one of Amazon’s largest markets, and other media outlets.
Covid-19 threatens our health and community. To keep us all healthy, we need to reduce and manage escalating waste, forestall industrial and landfill pollution, and protect the scenic beauty of our streets and open space.
Ann Eve Hazen, a Tiburon resident, has offered to match all $100 donations, so that the Amazon letter can be published as soon as possible.
Will you donate?
Sincerely,
Carolyn Lund, Committee, Amazon to Reuse Boxes, carolynelund@gmail.com
