Petition asking Atherstone Town council to ban the Atherstone Hunt from using the Market Square on New Years Day .

Over the past year numerous footage has been filmed of the Atherstone Hunt illegally chasing and killing foxes, violently assaulting hunt monitors (http://bit.ly/1XaTK6D causing danger to road users with hounds running all over busy roads and a member of the hunt joking around and simulating sex with a dead goose (http://bit.ly/1XaTvII There have been at least 4 foxes killed by the Atherstone within the past year, two of which made the national press (http://bit.ly/1Mei55e (http://bit.ly/1TuUazo There is an overwhelming amount of video footage online to suggest that the Atherstone Hunt are not acting lawfully. This includes an employee of the Atherstone hunt caught on camera blocking an active badger sett (http://bit.ly/1XaTSmK As well as this the hunt have been in the national and local press over 30 times over a six month period mainly for killing foxes, violence towards hunt monitors (which included a member of the hunt being convicted of two counts of assault by beating) and their general shocking behaviour.
Last time the Atherstone Hunt were in Atherstone Town centre a supporter of the hunt was given a £90 fine for throwing things at people peacefully protesting.
The council and town of Atherstone should have no association with the hunt, to do so continues to damage the image and reputation of the town of Atherstone.
