I wish to petition to this Honourable House of Commons, to discuss the unfounded action taken by the Government (Home Office) to disallow admission and/or authority to entry to the beloved scholar Mr Mizanur Rahman. Mr. Rahman was issued with a valid Visitor Visa, but he was refused entry to the UK on 27 October 2021 on false and unfounded pretence.

Mr. Rahman, is an exceptional orator, author, religious scholar, community and social activist, champion of charitable causes, and most importantly, a beloved public figure. He is considered as one of the most moderate Islamic Scholars of Bangladeshi origin. His speeches and academic writings have inspired millions, especially spreading the messages of religious and communal harmony, inclusivity and social cohesion. He has further inspired the youth against drug addictions, getting involved in crimes, immorality and crookedness.

Therefore, I vehemently submit that there cannot be any plausible ground on which an academic and religious scholar like Mr. Mizanur Rahman can be excluded. I beseech the Honourable House to take notice of this unfounded and disproportionate position of the Home Office and take swift action to resolve this issue.
