Without input from the student body, the administrative staff of UCI Law made the unilateral decision to change the library's closing time from 10:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The study rooms in the library are the most convenient, safest, and most productive place to meet for many UCI Law students. Throughout the previous semester, these study rooms were always being used late into the night, as they are the ideal place to meet for study groups and group assignments. The California Room is a place of quiet study and thus does not satisfy the same need. 

As students, we pay upwards of $50,000 a year in tuition fees. Library access is perhaps the most utilized service outside the classroom UCI Law offers. 

We ask that the administrative staff restores the UCI Law Library's closing time to 10:00 PM.
