Demand the Resignation of Activision Executives

The Issue

The community of players dedicated to Blizzard petition for an immediate change of leadership within the company to help bring back the company who at one time led the market in its gaming genre. To do this there needs to be drastic changes.

We feel those currently named and future alleged employees suspected of participating in the “Frat Boy” culture at Blizzard should be suspended without pay, stock not issued, and any stock options withheld until the full investigation has been completed in a court of law.

The most obvious is the immediate suspension without pay of Bobby Kotick. In addition, Chief Legal Officer, Grant Dixton should be reviewed for possible censure and/or disbarment by the state Bar Associations he is currently licensed to practice law.

Blizzard Entertainment should not be responsible for the legal fees or fines imposed against any of those resigning or being dismissed. Those funds should be paid for by those found guilty.

We also request and outside audit of all documents and any other possible evidence currently held by Blizzard and its employees with knowledge of these alleged crimes. Allowing for those who have had to be silenced to finally be heard.

Furthermore, the current board of Blizzard Entertainment should prepare to vacate their positions pending a call of shareholders to vote within the next 90 days. Only industry leaders of the gaming world should be considered as temporary board replacements until Blizzard’s financial end of 2nd quarter 2022. Gaming Industry Experts - David Abzug, Jennifer Lade, Frank Lantz, Don McGowan, and Stephen Jacobs could provide solid guidance for the company during this time of discontent from employees, players, and specifically the victims of these horrific crimes.

With over 9000 employees worldwide, the continued lack of change and acknowledgement by management increase the distrust in the company and the need for employees to look for better solutions. Blizzard employees and companies supporting the games created by Blizzard – Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Dell could feel the impact as well. Only about 15% of those current and past employees had the ability to make and enforce change – yet the other 85% will suffer the loss of players and the trust of the gaming world.

Investors could feel the impact since Vanguard Group, FMR LLC, and BlackRock Inc. control over 170 million shares of ATVI – about 86-89% of total outstanding shares. This stock is included in several funds including major 401k plans.

While this will not fix the immediate issues related to game content in WOW, the possibilities of the future of the games could be achieved with a more conducive and stable work environment for Blizzard employees.

Senator Alex Padilla from California and Representative Katherine Moore Porter should be requested to oversee the request of this petition.

UPDATE: J. Allen Brack has stepped down as of 8/3/2021. He has been replaced with Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra.

Both are new to Blizzard - Oneal earlier this year and Ybarra in November of 2019. They are veterans of the gaming community and could with some time put Blizzard's game content back on track to being those fans can be happy to play again. Their history also suggests they have the ability to make swift and immediate changes related to Blizzard's poor working conditions.

Oneal has over six years of advocacy on behalf of women with having served as president of Women Presidents' Organization and as a board member of the Young Women's Leadership Initiative group.

Mike Ybarra previous worked almost 20 years with Microsoft - 11 of those years specifically with the Xbox team.
