I could go on and on about why I believe this should be a change the WNBA implements.  I could talk about how little revenue the league generates in comparison to the NBA.  I could talk about how because of this low revenue, WNBA star athletes make the same yearly salary as your average NBA bench warmer.  I could even make things personal and talk about how I have a daughter and I'd love for her to be able to look up to WNBA players in the same way I did NBA players growing up.  However, I will do none of that.  Instead I am choosing to just bring facts and everyone's favorite pastime... MATH!

Average height for a NBA player in the 2022 season =  6'7" (79in)
Regulation NBA rim height =  10'  (120in)
Average height for a WNBA player in the 2022 season =  5'9" (69in)
Regulation WNBA rim height =  Also 10' (120in)

Using the above height averages from the latest seasons of both NBA and WNBA players, my goal was to find what SHOULD the player-to-rim height ratio be in comparison to the NBA.  The rim height I arrived at was 8'9" (104.8in).  To put things in perspective, this simply means that WNBA players are at a 15" rim height DISADVANTAGE compared to their male cohorts.  This is a travesty, a farce and we have been hoodwinked for far too long.

I implore WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert to hear my plea and the plea of those who side with me. This change would revitalize the league and shine a light on all of these extremely talented young people.  Please sign my petition and help reinvigorate this league.  I appreciate your time and consideration.
