Ask the Portland Trail Blazers to make an "It Gets Better" video

Recent events in sports continue to make obvious the fact that homophobic attitudes can no longer be tolerated in that (or any) community. Kobe Bryant's apology for his use of homophobic slurs and Suns' CEO Rick Welts coming out show that the time is right for change. Everyone should be welcome in the world of professional sports.

Please sign this petition to get the Portland Trail Blazers to make an "It Gets Better" video in support of LGBTQ youth. This video series, started by Dan Savage, features adults explaining that the challenges faced by LGBTQ kids get better when one grows up. The San Francisco Giants agreed to produce a video for this series in response to a petition, and now's your chance to make sure the Blazers follow suit. Portland prides itself on being weird, but we should also be helping to keep our nation weird by encouraging society to embrace the diversity that makes this nation great. Help show LGBTQ kids that, no matter how tough things are now, it gets better!

The Portland Trail Blazers should speak out about the fact that homophobia is unacceptable by making an "It Gets Better" video in support of LGBTQ youth. This video series, started by Dan Savage, features adults explaining that the challenges faced by LGBT kids get better when one grows up. The San Francisco Giants just agreed to produce a video for this series in response to a petition, and now the Blazers should follow suit.
