My name is not key here, but I am just like one of millions of Americans who yearn for a capable leader who can lead us through these trying times. Across this great nation, my feeling of trepidation regarding the leadership of President Biden is echoed.

Just like many of us, I voted my conscience during the last election. However, it wasn't about the lesser evil between candidates. I wanted someone competent, passionate, and, most important, capable of steering America steadily. An older president may bring the wisdom of experience. However, with the average age for retirement in the U.S. at 61, it is hard not to question if a significantly older president can cope effectively with the demands of the office (Source: U.S. Census Bureau).

Concerns about cognitive decline related to age have been widely studied and accepted in the field of neurology. A report in the Journal of Neurology states that cognitive performance decreases after the age of 60 (Source: Journal of Neurology). These worries are not to discredit or undermine President Biden personally, but to question if age might hinder his ability to execute the most rigorous job in our nation competently.

With this petition, I am simply expressing my opinion and seeking support from like-minded individuals. It isn't about beating Trump from the election but about the wellness of our nation.

Let's ask President Biden to consider stepping down from his position due to concerns about his ability to serve effectively due to his age. We respectfully ask him to consider our apprehensions and think about the welfare of our great country above all else.
