The Issue

Fr. Samuel has been an unwavering spiritual father and a guiding light for our congregation as the Vice President of St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church, a nonprofit organization that holds a dear place in our hearts. His leadership, kindness, and dedication have touched the lives of countless members of our community. Many of us were heartbroken to discover that Fr. Samuel was sent to Egypt without prior notice while he was undergoing critical cancer treatment in the United States. This unexpected turn of events has left our congregation in a state of shock and despair.

Fr. Samuel's cancer treatment is essential for his health and well-being. As a community that thrives on the principles of compassion, mercy, and kindness, we find it imperative to rally together to request that our church leadership allow Fr. Samuel to return and continue his life-saving treatment here. The emotional and physical stress of shifting medical care across continents can be detrimental, and it is only fair that he is given the opportunity to recover in an environment where he is supported by those who love and care for him.

We understand the complexities and challenges that come with international matters and church policies, but at the very core, our faith teaches us to be compassionate and to extend our arms to those in need. We respectfully request transparency from church leadership, as well as an open dialogue with Fr. Samuel and the congregational family regarding his situation. Compassionate acts set the foundation of our spiritual community, and allowing Fr. Samuel to complete his medical care with dignity speaks volumes.

We urge the church leadership to consider the humanitarian aspect of this petition. Please join us in this call for compassion and integrity by signing this petition to bring Fr. Samuel back home to us to continue his treatment. Your signature can make a difference in ensuring Fr. Samuel receives the proper care he so deserves.
