Jim Corbett National Park, the first National Park of Asia, was established in the 1930s and was initially named the Hailey National Park. It is known for its rich flora and fauna. It has been the home for many wild animals like the Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, elephants, and hundreds of birds species. It has the highest footfall of the royal Bengal tigers in the country.

Jim Corbett was the man who established this park after a lot of work he has done extensively and intensively protecting the people of Uttarakhand from the man-eating beasts of his time. He was a hunter and an environmentalist at the same time.

Changing the name of Mr. Jim Corbett, such a great pioneer/naturalist who has put in the majority of his life in the protection of both mankind and wildlife to some other name is like taking away the love and respect towards that great man who has considered himself to be an Indian. This is sheer politicizing by the BJP Government which should be stopped with all our support. Kindly support this cause so that we would remember and cherish Jim Corbett, his work, and his legacy and enjoy nature's beauty at Jim Corbett National Park.
