Please attend this Planning and Zoning Commission meeting at 5:00 pm this Thursday, October 7 at City Hall, First Floor Conference Room.
A pre-meeting is scheduled at 4:30 pm in the Fifth Floor large conference room, open to public as well - a great time to look for familiar faces.
This is our opportunity to speak on the loss of mature trees along Asheland and also on our petition request to consolidate the affordable housing part of this development with the one on 11 Collier Avenue in order to preserve the forest on that property in its entirety.
In an additional meeting this Friday morning at 8:30 am, the Downtown Commission will discuss the 11 Collier Avenue proposal which also provides an opportunity to speak, in the First Floor Conference Room.
To spread the word about the urgency to appear and speak, share with your circle of friends.
Advocacy with the City is as critical as ever right now!
Wear your green bandana, shirt or face paint (whatever you have that’s green!) to these meetings, to support the preservation of Collier Forest AND the need for smarter, affordable, more climate resilient housing in Asheville.
Thank you,
Citizens for South Slope Tree Preservation
