As 2019 draws to a close, we are very grateful for your past support of our effort to preserve the magnificent wood at 11 Collier Avenue. The recently formed Board of the Ravenscroft Reserve Initiative (RRI) is taking the necessary steps to successfully protect and preserve this uniquely wild half acre of urban forest, complete with majestic hundred-year-old native oaks in the heart of downtown Asheville’s South Slope neighborhood. Our first milestone is to raise $18,000 by December 31. These are the up-front costs we are incurring before we can enter into a written purchase agreement with the current property owners.
As we contemplate how to stop the ongoing demise of Asheville’s urban canopy, we are counting on you, our loyal supporters, to help make a difference.
To give now, please go to the giving page of MountainTrue, the RRI’s fiscal sponsor, at the following link and make sure to type RRI in the comments box when you give! Then let us know that you gave. That way we know to keep you in the loop with our work!
Many thanks,
The RRI Board
